Stakeholder Personas

Meet the people across the table in each of the 86 Grid Index economies: a regulator, a utility or grid operator, a developer or investor, and a major buyer. Each persona reflects the country's institutions and live issues, and how culture shapes the way people there communicate, decide and build trust. Pick an economy on the globe, then request any persona as an AI role-play prompt to rehearse the meeting.

AI-assisted assessments. These personas and culture profiles are AI-assisted assessments of fictional people and general tendencies, not of any real person. AI can make mistakes, so check facts with official sources before you rely on them.

Stakeholder Personas FAQ

What are the Virya Stakeholder Personas?

A guide to the people you meet in energy and electricity markets in 86 economies. For each economy there are four fictional personas: a regulator or ministry official, a utility or grid operator, a developer or investor, and a major electricity buyer. Each one shows their goals, pressures, hot buttons, how they communicate, how they decide, what builds their trust and what loses it, and the questions they will ask you.

Which countries are covered?

The same 86 economies as the Virya Electric Grid Index 2026: 16 in the Americas, 32 in Europe, 3 in the Middle East, 18 in Africa and 17 in Asia-Pacific, from the United States, China, India, Germany and Brazil to Nepal, Kenya, Chile and Vietnam.

How do cultural differences show up in energy market meetings?

In who speaks, how a no sounds and where decisions are really made. A Japanese ministry official may agree to nothing in the meeting because the decision was built by consultation beforehand. A Dutch grid operator will tell you plainly what is wrong with your proposal. An Indian state regulator expects you to follow the commission's formal process rather than rely on informal assurances. Each persona's communication and decision notes, and each country's culture profile, describe these tendencies for that role.

How can I use a persona to prepare for a meeting with a regulator, utility or buyer?

Read the persona's pressures, hot buttons and questions before the meeting, check the first-meeting etiquette for the country, and compare its culture profile with your own country's. To rehearse, request the persona's AI role-play prompt: paste it into an AI assistant and it plays that stakeholder, then coaches you on how you came across when you ask.

How do I get the AI role-play prompt?

Open a persona and choose Email me the prompt (PDF). Enter your name, email, country and LinkedIn profile. The prompt arrives as a PDF from contact@viryaintel.com once your details are checked.

Are these real people?

No. Every persona is a fictional composite, and the names were checked so that they do not belong to known figures in each country's energy sector or politics. The personas and culture profiles are AI-assisted assessments of general tendencies. AI can make mistakes, and individuals differ from any national pattern, so treat them as preparation, not as facts about a person.

How do the personas relate to the Energy Atlas and the Grid Index?

They use the same economies and show each one's Grid Index rank and pillar grades. The Virya Energy Atlas lists the regulators, system operators, ministries and exchanges behind each persona's institution.
